We love Mrs Kenny and Mrs S!!! by jennifer s. at InsiderPages
Both my children went to Arc and Dove and are now attending St Martin De Porres. My son Sam had Mrs Rieland in 4's and Mrs Greco for Kindergarten- and was taught to read as well as tie his shoes. My daughter Olivia had Mrs Kenny and Mrs S for 3's and 4's, but went to St Martin's for a full day Kindergarten- she still talks of them and misses them- in fact on the first day of K I asked her how it was and her reply, she isn't Mrs Kenny and she was sad. Both of them had a wonderful experience with arc and dove and their years there are full of happy CHILDHOOD memories- that is what PreK is.To hear people speak of the staff and school in such a way really makes me hope they have left-that is what corrodes the moral compass of a Catholic education. My 3rd child is going to be two in January and I only hope those same teachers will be there for Jack- in fact- any time I see any of them in the community I always say, please stay for 3 more years! One more thing, personally these ladies are all very wonderful moms with families that give back to their communities, and are devoted to their jobs- and attacking them is awful. Teachers are there to teach parents are there to parent the towo are different but want the same goal, and I think many of the upset parents on this site have confused the two. The fact is sometimes we aren't going to like everything a teacher, coach or boss says about our kids, but to tear that person down instead of building up your child is a waste of energy, poor parenting and only hurts kids in the end. And again, why would you keep your child where you and them are so unhappy that is very irresponsible as a parent. As you can tell I am very partial to the Arc and Dove and would recommend it - The staff cares about the children and above all they KNOW your child. Prayerfully, Jen, Sam and Olivia Scarpati

good school, one complaint
I gave this school 5 stars because it deserves it. It is a good place for children to be, and a great program. From what I understand, it is still great, even though our children no longer attend. My only complaint is that because this school is private, they do not have to take children with severe allergies. They do not have to be peanut-free if they choose not to be , and they do not have to be trained in epi-pen use if the Director chooses not to do it. It is a private preschool and kindergarten, and not under the same regulations as a public school. So, in my situation, when Mrs. Hamilton was Director, she was trained in epi-pen usage, and had no problem with having children in the program with severe allergies. But when Mrs. Hamilton resigned (she moved away, God Bless her), the new Director decided that she did not want to have the responsibilty or the liability to use epi-pens any more. Which she had every right to do. There is nothing wrong with her making that choice, it just blocked us from allowing our second child from attending a school we had grown to love so much. It is a great school, and we loved it there

I like this place!
My child goes to this school. She is having a good time, is learning alot, and the teachers are very patient and understanding. They have to deal with alot. They have some very crazy parents there, that are too attached to their kids. Going to preschool is a big step. It is important for a child to do it. And you have to trust the teachers. If you don't, then why would you send your child there? I would never send my child to a place where I felt the staff was incompetent. Some reviewers have stated this, and I can't believe it. If you feel that way, why would you jeopardize your child in such a horrible place? It does not make sense, and it shows that the negative reviews are without merit. We love this school. It is a safe place, a good place, and a christian place.

good catholic program.
The program is wonderful. It is clean, safe, gorgeous, bright, airy, and made for young children. It is really worth it to call and see the place. They have a security system in place too, which is super. Alot of other church preschools have all kinds of people walking in and out all day, and here, only school personnel can get in, by punching a door code. It is amazing, when you see what your child will get in comparison to other places. There are field trips, picnics, productions that the children take part in, graduation ceremonies, and holiday parties. It also has a very safe, fenced in, playground. The staff is delightful. I have had several children attend this school, as well as nieces and nephews. I have nothing bad to say.

There is 1 thing I would like to address. This school is not the only way to get into St. Columba School, as some people have said on here. St. Columba's school website mentions this fact too. Your child can attend any local preschool or kindergarten out there, and get into St. Columba if: they have space, if you are a parishioner of one of the 3 local parishes, and if you have record of attending church at one of the 3 parishes (through collection envelopes) . This has been a known fact for a very long time. One of my kids went to public kindergarten and then to St. Columba.

Hey Harry P.
hey harry P. didn't you have problems last year about this time at the ark & dove? why is your he/she still there? i know the school.
the kindergarten buses don't even arrive until 8:30! do you love the place so much you get there early? (8am playing outside in 15 degrees) yes, mid way through a kindergarten year, your 6 year old should know how to get dressed by him/her self. stop complaining & start working with he/she on simple tasks that he/she should have mastered last year - at home!
